For the Year 12's production of 'A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' we have been asked to create concept boxes for each of the actor's to sit on, roughly 13. Below is my 1 ft by 1 ft box with two triangle supports, one 10" frame wood and three wooden side panels missing for better previewing. I have designed it to be this size because the schools chairs, which the audience will be seated on, are roughly 1 1/2 ft tall and so at 1 ft the audience will be able to see the cast, whom will sit on the blocks throughout the play, very well. It is also important to not that the top of this diagram is actually the bottom of of the box.
I added the middle layers of wood for further support, as with the triangular blocks. However in retrospect, 13 of this boxes would require around 743ft of wood excluding that of the triangular supports and of the panels. It may be cheaper and more practical for the Drama department to buy 13 similarly sized boxes.
